Dear Entrepreneur,
It’s a new week, and I must say that I wonder if the weekend is over already, but we have to get back to work.
Today, we will be talking about a very important aspect of our lives, on which our personal and career development relies. It is called Investment-in-self.
What does it mean to invest in yourself? How can this significantly boost your success? and How to go about investing in yourself. All these questions and more will be covered in this letter, and I advise that you sit back, relax, and continue reading till the end.
Investing in yourself is making yourself into a more experienced, well-rounded person through different tasks, goals, and activities. This may include reading more, creating a schedule for yourself, or taking a class. It is the process of being intentional about your growth, what value you uphold, and how much of it you give. Remember, you are only as important as the amount of value that you give.
There are several ways by which you can effectively invest in yourself, which a few will be addressed in this letter;
Engage in self-care
Mental health is an important factor in your overall health and well-being. Practicing self-care can come in different forms, including yoga, meditation, or time in nature. Self-care can include doing something you love, such as rediscovering a hobby or taking part in recreational activities.
Invest in training
Attending a workshop, seminar, boot camp, or webinar on varying topics can help expand your mind and skill set. You can choose to attend a talk on something you're already familiar with to improve current skills or an unfamiliar topic to learn something new. Try engaging in new things or improving on existing knowledge at regular intervals.
Take a course
Consider taking a class or investing in college, certification, or licensure. Educating yourself can make you more appealing to your customers, competitors, investors, and even employees. It can also change and expand the way you view life, which can help you become a well-rounded individual.
Learn new skills
Learning a new skill can increase your knowledge and abilities, which can be helpful as new tasks or challenges arise. New skills can include practical skills, such as time management, or physical skills, such as working with tools. Set a goal of learning a new skill every quarter by enrolling in classes.
Hone previous skills
Working on your current skills is just as important as learning new skills. Practice or keep up to date on skills you've learned in the past. For example, continue learning how to play Basketball, or continue studying a language you partially know.
The solution you provide depends on your understanding of the problem, investment in yourself can never go wrong because it makes you a better person, increases your level of confidence, could help you be happier, improve your physical and mental health, and help you to live a more fulfilling and purposeful life.
In turn for all of these, it transitions into building a better relationship with your stakeholders, enabling a healthy atmosphere for your business development and in return, the maximization of profit.
As an entrepreneur, continuous learning is a habit you want to cultivate to stay on top of the market and be aware of the market trends, and the new business order. This week, I implore you to take on that opportunity to learn and be a better version of yourself and your brand.
Do have a pleasant week ahead.
